Ever printed an image you loved online, only to see it come out pixelated or with dull, inaccurate colors?

Ever printed an image you loved online, only to see it come out pixelated or with dull, inaccurate colors?

The problem often lies in resolution and color mode—two factors many overlook when preparing artwork for print.

Most images found online are just 72 DPI and in RGB color mode. That’s fine for digital use, but when sent to print, they often appear blurry, faded, or unprofessional—especially damaging for marketing materials or signage that represent your brand.

For sharp, high-quality print results, always:

  • Use images at 300 DPI or higher
  • Set your files to CMYK color mode for accurate color reproduction
  • Include proper bleed and margins to prevent trimming issues
  • Design large-format prints with legible fonts and high contrast

Upscaling low-resolution files in Photoshop won’t help—you can’t add detail that isn’t there. The key is starting with print-ready source files.

Best practices:

  • Logos & icons: Use original vector files (.AI, .EPS, or PDF) for clean, scalable results
  • Photographs: Work with original high-res images, exported at full print size
  • Signage & large prints: Ensure files are set to actual size, with vector elements wherever possible

Consistent, professional print quality starts with proper file setup. Don’t let poor-quality images weaken your brand.
